After playing around on Blogspot a bit, I think I’m coming back to WordPress for good. I do love Blogspot, but I think this will give my blog a more professional and distinct look, since I’m hopefully going to be using this for quite some time!
I’ll be watching the Superbowl while finding quotes for my thesis today (woo, multitasking!). I’ll probably blog about some of the commercials or maybe do a liveblog, we’ll see. The one commercial that really bothers me, though, is the Focus on Family/Tim Tebow ad. It burns my butt that CBS rejected an ad from a gay dating site because it was too controversial, but this totally pro-life, anti-choice ad is allowed, and ultimately the choice to air it has been DEFENDED by CBS. If you don’t like abortion, fine, don’t get one…. but between groups like this being anti-choice AND against gay marriage/adoption, they’re guaranteeing that there will be even more unwanted and unadopted babies in the world. Not to mention the hypocrisy as most pro-lifers are also pro-war and pro-death penalty.
Apologies for the rant. I’m very passionate about being pro-choice. That doesn’t mean I don’t advocate increasing accessibility of birth control and sex education, I CERTAINLY do, but I truly believe that abortion should still be available as a last-resort option, especially in situations where the mother is at risk!
Anyways, happy superbowl sunday… and WHO DAT?!
